The Ortensi Farm

Greg and Berni run the farm together. We come from different backgrounds and were not raised on this land. Greg purchased the farm in 1997 and shortly after purchasing the farm married Berni. In 2003 they moved onto the farm full time and started to manage the land organically. The organic certification came later in 2006. Horses were brought onto the farm in 2003 and cattle shortly followed. Greg has a logging background and for most of his carrier he logged with a team of draft horses. Though Greg did not run a farm he worked for many dairy farmers in his youth. Berni grew up on a well established equine farm that covered, boarding, lessons, showing, training and breeding. Together we make a dynamic team. We are always attending training seminars as well as using new techniques to manage our land and animals.
