Barbara's Bliss Orchards

Locally owned and operated, Barbara's Bliss Orchards provides high quality apricots and peaches. We are just a couple of farm kids that grew up, left home, and then decided to come back to the land. Dan was born and raised less than a half mile from Barbara's Bliss Orchards on what is now the Colorado State University Fruit Research Center. With the purchase of Barbara's Bliss Orchards Dan is the third generation in his family to grow fruit. Dan's grandparents settled in the Grand Valley in the 1910s. The Voss family has decades of experience successfully growing fruit for their customers in the Grand Valley and across Colorado. Barbara was born and raised on a family farm in northeast Missouri and her only knowledge about fruit trees was climbing one of the peach trees at the edge of her parents' garden. While we grew up with very different farm experiences what we share is a common love of the land and a commitment to being good stewards of the land as both of our parents and ancestors were. Five years ago in anticipation of Barbara's retirement, we purchased our orchard on Orchard Mesa. During the past 21 yeas since returning to Colorado, we have spent a significant amount of time visiting family and friends in the greater Grand Junction area; and so it only seemed natural that we return "home" to Grand Junction to start "living our dream".
